Dr. Carol Ann Sommer selected EKU Foundation Professor
Dr. Carol Ann Sommer, professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, Counselor Education & Communication, was recently selected as a 2020-22 EKU Foundation Professor. Eastern Kentucky University established the Foundation Professor program in 1987 to recognize "creative, self-motivated exemplars of the ideal college professor." The selection criteria for this prestigious award are based on EKU's standards for promotion, tenure, and merit in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service.
Sommer is the fourth Foundation Professor from the College of Education. Dr. Cynthia Resor was selected in 2019, Dr. Rodney White in 2011, both from the Department of Curriculum & Instruction. Dr. Esther K. Leung (retired) from Special Education was selected in 1988.
